What the business does
Products or services, city or service area, and the ideal customer.
Start a project
Whether it's a first website, online store, redesign or a problem with an existing site, you do not need technical terms. Explain what is happening in the business and with customers. Ashish replies directly - no sales team to route around. A simple query is usually answered in writing; larger requirements move to a scheduled 30–60 minute discovery call.
Products or services, city or service area, and the ideal customer.
No site, an outdated one, unclear enquiries or a store that is hard to manage.
An existing website, social page, catalogue or reference that gives context.
When you need it by (if there is a deadline) and roughly what budget you have in mind. A guess is more useful than no answer.
What happens after your message
An initial message is not automatically a quotation. I first understand the requirement; a simple question may be answered in writing, while a larger project usually benefits from a discovery call.
I review the business, current problem, useful links and requested timing, then ask short questions about any missing context.
The call is used to understand the customer journey, pages, content responsibility and constraints-not to run through a scripted pitch.
If it is a fit, you receive the scope, assumptions, exclusions, schedule, price and known third-party costs in writing. There is no pressure to approve.
How to reach me
WhatsApp works well for short context; a detailed requirement can come by email. Discovery calls are scheduled so both sides can have the relevant information ready. If you are an NRI or in another time zone, include a preferred time window in the message.
Use WhatsApp, email, phone or the project-enquiry form. The available contact routes are shown below.
Response timing
Enquiries are reviewed during India business hours. During focused project work, a reply may move to the next working period.
Sunday messages are reviewed on the next working day. Existing maintenance clients should use the support channel agreed in their scope for urgent incidents.
Different time zone? Suggest an available window on WhatsApp.
What the discovery call covers
The goal of the discovery call is not to sell you anything - it is to understand the actual picture of the business and its customers. Below is a typical outline so you can arrive prepared and no time is wasted.
What you do, the ideal customer, current enquiry channels and any seasonal patterns.
If a website exists, what is failing. If not, which enquiries are being missed today.
Where copy, photos, product data and customer FAQs will come from. What is missing and what is ready.
A realistic launch window, budget range and the next steps to a written quote.
What a useful enquiry looks like
A full technical brief is not required. A useful enquiry says what the business does, what is not working, one reference link and a rough timeline - 4–5 lines is plenty. Below are two example enquiries in the shape Overbuilt receives most often.
"Hi Ashish, I run an AC installation and repair business in Ludhiana. I don't have a website, just an Instagram page. I get 8–10 WhatsApp enquiries a week but conversion is low. I need a simple site that builds trust so serious buyers reach me on WhatsApp. Would like to go live before Diwali."
"Hello, we sell handmade juttis from Amritsar - we have a Shopify store running for 2 years (link: brandxyz.com). Traffic exists but abandonment is 70%+. I suspect size chart and checkout are the problems. Looking at targeted fixes rather than a full redesign. Budget in the 30–50k range."
Enquiry mistakes to avoid
These mistakes are common - avoiding them gets you a quick, useful first response. There is no sales team to route around; direct clarity is the fastest path.
A one-line message usually gets a "please share more context" reply. Add the business type and the current problem.
Cost is not answerable without a scope. Check the pricing page for the starting range; a written quote follows discovery.
Overbuilt does not sell fixed packages. The scope is built from your actual customers and enquiry pattern - universal packages are avoided by design.
Unscheduled calls may be missed. Send a short context on WhatsApp with a preferred time, then schedule the call.
What happens after acceptance
After discovery and the written quote, if you approve, the project rhythm becomes predictable. This section clarifies what to expect after approval.
The accepted quote, first agreed payment stage, content-input checklist and project channel are confirmed.
Important page direction, first-fold message and mobile layout are approved before the full build.
Updates and feedback are consolidated at the agreed checkpoints; any milestone invoice follows the accepted quote.
Final QA, agreed indexing setup and account handover are completed before the final payment stage stated in the quote.
NRI + international enquiries
NRI clients linked to Punjab, Gujarat and Kerala are often in the UK, Canada, US, Australia and UAE. Mention a preferred time window (in Indian Standard Time) on WhatsApp; a Google Meet or Zoom link is accepted for video. Invoices can be issued in the client's own currency (with the agreed foreign-exchange treatment) - the final treatment is clarified in the written quote. Many NRI clients want to deliver a modern website to a Punjab family business - in that scenario decisions are aligned with the India-side team over video, while payment is made from wherever is convenient for you.
Contact-related questions
No. Send a short WhatsApp or email with the business, current problem and any reference link. Simple queries are answered in writing; a discovery call is scheduled only when it will genuinely help the scope. There is no gatekeeper or sales team - messages reach Ashish directly.
During Indian business hours (Monday to Saturday) most first replies land within one working day. Sunday messages are picked up on the next working day. If a project sprint is in review, a reply may move to the next working period so the current client keeps focused build time.
Yes, when the scope is genuinely small (a single-page site, a landing page or a targeted fix) and the business is clearly explained. The starting from ₹8,000 entry point exists precisely for that. Projects clearly outside Overbuilt's fit - enterprise ERP builds, 24/7 on-call ecommerce ops - are referred honestly instead of accepted.
Yes for NRI and India-linked international clients, with time-zone aware scheduling and invoicing in an agreed currency and jurisdiction. Purely international projects with no India context may be a better fit with a local developer in that market.
A mutual NDA is signed on request before you share commercial or sensitive information. For a normal business enquiry it is usually not needed, because the discovery call is scoped around website planning rather than internal operations. Ask on WhatsApp or email if you want one drafted.
This is common in India. The first task becomes securing what you own - the domain registration, hosting login, admin logins, source files and analytics - with an audit and a written recovery plan. That work is separate from any new build and is agreed upfront so no time is spent designing on top of an unstable foundation.

You do not need a technical brief. What the business does, who it serves, and the problem you have right now - that is enough to start.
